TeacherX will run on Monday 31 March and Tuesday 1 April 2024, at JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus.

LOCATION:

JCU TeacherX will be delivered in Townsville on 31 March & 1 April, however if you are unable to join us in person, you can attend your local JCU campus or participate online to watch Session 1. Please indicate which location you will be attending.

FAQs for the 2025 event

TeacherX provides school staff with the chance to explore the unique facilities many of their graduates are enjoying as well as a continuing professional development opportunity.

TeacherX will be held at JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas – Monday 31 March – Tuesday 1 April 2025.

Once you get to the JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas we’ll take care of the rest. View the program to discover what you can experience across the two days.

We understand the cost burden travelling may have on schools and we want to encourage everyone with the opportunity to participate. Travel subsidies are available for attendees flying into the Townsville region. To enquire about a travel subsidy, please contact futurestudents@jcu.edu.au for more information. Please note, schools are required to pay flight invoice in full. Funding beyond one staff member per school will be considered on a case-by-case basis due to limited spaces available at TeacherX.

We’re excited to offer a live streaming option for Session 1 at TeacherX on Monday 31 March. For those unable to travel to Townsville, you can attend your local JCU campus in Cairns, Mackay and Brisbane, or watch online. If you are attending in Cairns, Mackay or Brisbane, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with your local Future Student Advisor, tour the facilities and network with fellow educators. Please select your option when booking and your Relationship Manager will be in contact with you for more details.

Accommodation is provided for Sunday 30 March to Wednesday 2 April (total 3 nights). If you require additional nights, please contact the hotel directly to arrange. Attendees will stay at an off-campus accommodation provider as all on-campus accommodation is fully booked. Information on Townsville On-Campus Accommodation facilities can be viewed here. There will also be an optional accommodation tour included in the program.

TeacherX will return to Townsville in 2025 for the exciting day two experience. If you are visiting Cairns throughout the year and would like to see the campus, please contact futurestudents@jcu.edu.au and we can accommodate a tour.
